Arısu HES Projesi

Located in Maçka district, Trabzon province, the regulator is on the Maden Stream, a tributary of Değirmendere, while the hydroelectric power plant is on the Altıntaş Stream, another tributary of Değirmendere, along the road to Sümela Monastery. It has a 1,993-meter modified tunnel and a 1,532-meter enclosed canal water transmission structure. Arısu Regulator and HPP consists of 2 Francis-type and 1 Pelton-type turbines, with a total capacity of 5.009 MWm / 4.684 MWe and an annual production capacity of 12.519 GWh. It began operating on 17.02.2014. The generated energy is transmitted via a 36 kV transmission line to the Maçka substation. It is within the scope of YEKDEM (Renewable Energy Support Mechanism).
